Mrs. Vernell Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Vernell Williams Smith, of Ranburne, Alabama, passed away on June 28, 2020. She was 93. Mrs. Smith was born on August 30, 1926 in Ranburne to the late Hilly and Abbie Williams. She was retired as a seamstress from Bremen-Bowdon Investment Company. She was a long-time member of Macedonia Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie E. Smith; her brothers, Harvey, Comer, Clonnie, Hubie, and Grady Williams; her sister, Vassie Allen; and her son-in-law, Barry Cason. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Rita Smith; her daughter, Rhonda Smith Cason; her grandsons and granddaughter-in-law, Matthew Timothy Smith and Mark David and Kaitlin Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special caregivers, Ariane Cook and Gabby Cook. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. (Alabama Time) at Macedonia Baptist Church. Bro. Morgan Bailey will officiate. Mr. Kenneth Frost will provide the music. Pallbearers will be Bobby Ray Green, Matthew Smith, Mark Smith, Ricky Cason, Delane Widener, and Paul Bell. Maddox Green will be an honorary pallbearer. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Prior to the services at the church, the family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. (Alabama Time) till the funeral hour. We kindly ask all friends to continue to observe social distancing at the visitation and service.
