Mrs. Mildred Johnson Harper, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on February 1, 2017. She was 88. Mrs. Harper was born on October 9, 1928 in Heflin, Alabama to the late Rufus and Jessie Johnson. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie James Harper; and her son, John Mac Harper. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beckie and Donald Green; her sons, Jerry Harper and David Harper; her daughter-in-law, Ann Harper; her sister, Eurlene Pesnell; her brother, Billy Johnson; five grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 12 p.m. (Georgia Time) at the Chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home. Bro. David Delong and Bro. Chester Pesnell will officiate. Mrs. Harper’s grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at New Hope Methodist Church in Mt. Zion, Georgia. Prior to the services, the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. till the funeral hour.
