Mrs. Maxine Gregg Holcombe

September 21, 1945 - May 27, 2019

Mrs. Maxine Gregg Holcombe, a resident of The Oaks in Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on May 27, 2019. She was 73. Mrs. Holcombe was born on September 21, 1945 in Pensacola, Florida to the late Kary and Bessie Lee Gregg. She worked for many years as a certified nursing assistant. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. “Pete” Holcombe; and her brother, Edward Kerry Gregg. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Wendy Lee West and Joseph Hermann; her brother and sister-in-law, William David and Frances Diane Gregg; her niece, Kimberly Gregg; her nephew, David Gregg, Jr.; her granddaughter, Miranda Smolar, and her great-grandchildren, MarLee Smolar, Aniyah Smolar, and Maxton Smolar. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Rainwater Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. till the funeral hour.
