Grace Odel Sawyer

January 13, 1923 - February 27, 2022

Grace O. Sawyer passed away on February 27, 2022. She was 99. Grace lived in Bowdon for 55 years. She was born on January 13th, 1923. She was a member of Bowdon Church of God. She was a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a proud nurse and often talked about her starched white hat and uniform and later in life a caregiver to many in the area. Grace loved her family dearly and never met a stranger. She would pray for you whether she knew you or not and always asked if you had a church. She was a great cook and will be remembered for her homemade cream puffs and Collard Greens. She was feisty, sassy, and stubborn, but above all else, she was loved. She was preceded in death by husband, Henry Wallace "Bill" Sawyer. She is survived by her two daughters, Angie Glasscock (Ed) of Carrollton and Debbie Bergner (Mike); her five grandchildren, Jeri Walker (Jason), Michael Olvey (Kerry), Kelly Olvey, Bobby Trantham (Allison), and Cody Trantham (Gabby); her eleven great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held for the family at Bowdon Church of God on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow.
