Mrs. Gervyace Jackson Preston

March 23, 1936 - January 20, 2022

Mrs. Gervyace Jackson Preston, of Ranburne, Alabama, passed away on January 20, 2022. She was 85. Mrs. Preston was born on March 23, 1936 to the late Chess and Clarice Jackson. She was a homemaker and a life-long member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir and convention singings. She also loved gardening and canning and making quilts for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Preston; and her siblings, Dean Jackson, Sonny Jackson, and Randall “Red” Jackson. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Terry and Debbie Preston, Melinda P. and Roger Wood, and Kathie and Don Johnson, her grandchildren and their spouses, Adam and Scarlett Preston, Matthew Morrison, Katie W. and Trent Ford, Michael and Kristen Johnson, and David Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, Marsie and Breken Johnson. The funeral service for Mrs. Preston will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. (Alabama Time) at Macedonia Baptist Church. Bro. Chris Jackson and Bro. Morgan Bailey will officiate. Pallbearers will be Sammy Jackson, Mike Calvert, Wallace Graves, Mike Preston, Barry Saxon, and Billy Jackson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. till the funeral hour.
