Mr. Bob Vance

April 12, 1943 - November 29, 2016

Mr. Robert H. Vance (Bob) of Bowdon, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. He was 73 years old. He was born on April 12, 1943 in Washington, Pennsylvania the son of C.R. Sr. and Sarah Reddinger of Hookstown, Pennsylvania. Mr. Robert, though many knew him as Bob, worked as a truck driver and was a well known diesel and heavy equipment mechanic in the area. He also served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Loftin Lodge No. 688 in Ephesus, Georgia. He worked very hard for his family and enjoyed eating all of the delicious food cooked by his loving wife. When not at work or at the dinner table, you could find him relaxing in his favorite recliner, probably watching some sort of racing. He stood faithfully by his wife and loved all of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchild. Even though most people knew him for his strength and toughness, he had a loving soul and was a good man. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Vance, and son, George Vance. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Mark Rogers of Bowdon, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Melinda Vance of Bowdon, Georgia, Ricky and Debly Vance of Carrollton, Georgia, and Randy and Lynne Vance of Carrollton, Georgia; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Allen Stewart of McDonald, PA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Mary Vance of Hookstown, Pennsylvania, Harold and Mary Lou Vance of Carrollton, Ohio, C.R. Jr. and Nancy Reddinger of El Dorado, Kansas, and Fred Reddinger of Cross Creek, Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be held at Rainwater Funeral Home on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. Reverends Tony Morris and Fred Cooke will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Ephesus Baptist Church cemetery in Ephesus, Georgia. Pallbearers will include Adrian Rogers, Zachary Rogers, Chris Rogers, Brian Vance, Ben Vance, Jimmy Vance, Kenny Vance, and Randy Vance. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m.
