Mr. David Michael Lloyd

With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Mr. David Michael Lloyd, age 74, of Bowdon, Georgia, who passed away on August 29, 2026. David was born on October 11, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Steven Barnett Lloyd and Mary Lucy Lloyd. Throughout his life, David was known for his devotion to his family, his many interests, and his willingness to serve others. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, David carried with him a strong sense of duty and service. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career with AT&T, where he worked as an Electronics Technician until his retirement. His technical ability, attention to detail, and natural curiosity were evident not only in his career but also in many of the things he enjoyed throughout his life. Growing up, David was raised a loyal fan of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, a tradition that remained close to his heart. He also had a longtime interest in shooting sports and enjoyed buying, selling, and trading firearms. His interest in law enforcement led him to attend the Police Academy, and he later gave of his time by serving as a volunteer deputy with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department. David also had a special place in his heart for animals and dearly loved his pets. They brought him companionship and happiness through the years and were very much a part of his family. Above everything else, however, David treasured the people he loved. His family was the center of his life, and he never hesitated to put them first. He shared 56 devoted years of marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy, whom he loved dearly and thoroughly enjoyed spoiling. That same devotion extended to their daughter, Connie, and later to his grandchildren, Lillian and Brody, who brought him tremendous pride and joy. Being a husband, father, and pawpaw were among David’s greatest blessings, and the love he had for his family was evident in the way he cared for them throughout his life. David leaves behind a family who will deeply miss his presence, his love, and the many memories they shared together. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nancy Arthur Lloyd; his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Neal Hannah; his grandchildren, Lillian and Brody Hannah; his sister and brother-in-law, Becky and James Dawson; his cousins, Vickie Royal, Adam Singleton, Henry Hammock, and Wayne Cato; his in-laws, Ricky Arthur and his significant other, Kelly Strickland, and Debbie and Mike Knowles; many beloved nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Sandy Jones. Funeral services for David will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Beam officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Knowles, Kevin Knowles, Keith Knowles, Kraig Knowles, Lance Arthur, and Grady Knowles. Tom Rooks and Morgan Butler will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carroll County Animal Shelter in David’s memory.
